What is ISO 21001
ISO 21001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements for an Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).
Its purpose is to help educational organizations, such as schools, training providers or education departments within larger organizations, effectively manage their activities and support the acquisition and development of knowledge, skills and competencies through teaching, learning or research.
Which organizations can adopt ISO 21001
ISO 21001 certification is applicable to any type and size of educational organization, public or private (Schools, Tuition Centers, Vocational Training Centers, Universities, Colleges, e-learning providers, etc.), offering the organization added value, prestige and credibility, while contributing to sustainable development.
Why you should get ISO 21001 certified
ISO 21001 certification offers educational organizations significant benefits, such as:
- Improving the organization and quality of education through documented procedures and evaluation tools, ensuring consistent operation
- Increasing student and stakeholder satisfaction, with an emphasis on personalized learning and support for students with learning disabilities
- Strengthening the organization's prestige and credibility, as certification is objective proof of commitment to quality management and compliance with international standards
- International recognition, which provides a competitive advantage and strengthens the organization's marketing
ISO 21001 Certification Process
The initial assessment for obtaining ISO 21001 Certification is implemented through a structured and transparent process that includes two stages:
Initial Assessment: Stage I Audit
Review of the completeness and adequacy of the organization's documented Management System
Initial Assessment: Stage II Audit
Review of the implementation and effectiveness of the management system. The audit examines all relevant information, performance targets, internal controls and processes, assessing the organization's full compliance with the selected ISO standard, and serves as the final step in achieving the organization's certification.
After a successfull evaluation, the company receives their ISO Certification, valid for 3 years.
Surveillance Audits
During the certificate's validity period, surveillance audits (2 in total) are conducted annually to confirm the seamless and continued implementation of the Management System.
Recertification is achieved by re-evaluating the Management System before the current certificate expires.
