The accidents that occurred in lifts demonstrated that the safety of our journeys within buildings is not a given, but depends on consistency in the maintenance, inspection and certification of lifts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>The introduction of the new regulatory framework and the now mandatory registration\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration-line: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #233d7d;\" href=\"https:\/\/ergocert.gr\/en\/nea-enimeroseis\/enimeroseis\/mitroo-anelkystiron-ti-ischyei-gia-tin-ypochreotiki-apografi-kai-pos-na-katachorisete-ton-anelkystira-sas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>to<\/b>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\" data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"159\">Digital Lift Register<\/span><\/a><\/span>, bring to the fore the need for strict adherence to the periodicity of checks.\u00a0<\/p><p>However, in order for an owner or manager to carry out the required re-inspection of a lift by an Accredited Body in good time, they must <b>he knows the exact re-inspection period for his lift.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2b32ff1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2b32ff1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How often should the periodic lift inspection take place<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa8614b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aa8614b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>According to current legislation, the intervals for periodic inspection are not the same for all lifts. How often the periodic inspection is mandatory depends on the use of the building where it is located and the number of floors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-70665ec4 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"70665ec4\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Up to 200 beds: every 3 years<\/li><li>Over 200 beds: every year<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Lifts in public buildings and facilities serving the general public<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fb70de2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fb70de2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Every year<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b75a5eb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b75a5eb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em>For the calculation of the stops, not only the main floors must be included, but also the ground floor, the basement and any other floor at which the lift stops.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3031c25 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3031c25\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For <b>example<\/b>, for a lift in an apartment building with <b>5 floors <\/b>the number of stops is <b>6<\/b> \u2013 5+1 including the ground floor \u2013 and therefore the periodic re-inspection must be carried out <b>every 6 years.<\/b><\/p><p>If, however, the lift makes <b>stop in the basement<\/b> then the number of stops is 7 and the re-inspection periodicity <b>every 5 years. <\/b>\u200b<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7285c4c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7285c4c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Where can you see the next inspection date<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c9731d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0c9731d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Following the completion of the inspection and certification of the lift, there are <b>2 points <\/b>where a specific date for the re-inspection is clearly stated.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c6fa5a e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-child\" data-id=\"0c6fa5a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-95691c8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"95691c8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">1. On the lift certificate<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d14a472 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d14a472\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The date of the scheduled periodic re-examination is explicitly stated in the Certificate issued by the Body.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-41f2ea8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"41f2ea8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">2. On the inspection sticker<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-def0142 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"def0142\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Inspection Body, along with the certificate, shall deliver to the owner or the maintenance technician of the lift a special inspection sticker, which should preferably be placed in a prominent position inside the lift car.\u00a0<\/p><p>The name of the Certification Body and the date (month and year) of the next inspection are indicated on the sticker.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3dddcf8 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"3dddcf8\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-859930a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"859930a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What applies to the Lifts Registry<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7dd3596 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7dd3596\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The previous deadline announced by the Ministry of Development for the registration of lifts in the National Registry was extended by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindev.gov.gr\/ypourgeio-anaptyxhs-paratash-ws-tis-30-iouniou-2026-sthn-apografh-anelkysthrwn-sto-psifiako-mhtrwo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new closing date on 30 June 2026<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>This extension gives a final window of time for owners, managers and maintenance personnel who have not already completed the registration procedure to do so and remains <b>mandatory for all lifts<\/b>.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42017bd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"42017bd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We remind you that in any case <strong>the request for carrying out the periodic reinspection of a lift is the responsibility of the owner<\/strong>, whereas the audit must be carried out exclusively by an inspection body accredited by the National Accreditation System.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
