Initial Inspection of Pressure Equipment / CE Marking

Initial Inspection of Pressure Equipment / CE Marking
Directives 2014/68/EU (PED) & 2014/29/EU (SPVD)
Pressure equipment includes vessels, pipelines, and safety fittings with a maximum permissible operating pressure of more than 0.5 bar beyond atmospheric pressure, such as steam boilers, LPG tanks, air tanks, heat exchangers, pressure equipment of piping, AUTOGAS installations and/or other pressure equipment or assemblies.
CONTAINERS, HEAT EXCHANGERS, STEAM BOILERS, PRESSURE EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLIES
Inspection and CE marking of pressure equipment is mandatory for commercial distribution and legal use in the European Union in accordance with Directives 2014/68/EU (Pressure Equipment Directive) and 2014/29/EU (Simple Pressure Vessels Directive).
Such inspection of relevant pressure equipment structures is conducted at the request of the manufacturer/vendor/user of the equipment by a Notified Body, such as ERGOCERT HELLAS SA (Notified Body number N.B. 2421), which can successfully undertake the conformity assessment for the CE marking of each pressure equipment in accordance with the above European Directives.
The inspection includes the examination of the design and the execution of intermediate quality controls as well as final conformity assessment checks of the pressure equipment structure in relation to the requirements of the respective Pressure Equipment Directive to which it is subject, and to the standard of the design study for the equipment structure.
