What is ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is a recognized international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The ISO 14001 standard specifies the requirements for an effective Environmental Management System that allows businesses to control their environmental impacts, comply with legal and regulatory requirements and integrate environmental responsibility into strategic planning.
The main requirements of ISO 14001 focus on creating an environmental policy, identifying the environmental aspects arising from the organization's activities, and setting environmental objectives. This triad of requirements commits the organization to pollution prevention, compliance with environmental legislation, and continuous improvement of environmental performance.
