Initial Inspection of Autogas Installation / CE Marking
European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED)

ERGOCERT performs inspection and provides certification of AUTOGAS installations, as part of the Accreditation by a Notified Body (N.B. 2421) according to the Pressure Equipment Directive.

In the light of thoroughly assessing the conformity of the individual components of the respective installations, as well as the adequacy and correctness of the technical inspection, it affixes the CE marking of the initial inspection.

Inspection at Fuel and Energy Supply Stations

To ensure compliance with the requirements of Law 4439/2016 as is currently in force, ERGOCERT HELLAS SA can undertake the following at fuel and energy supply stations:

  • Periodic inspection of air compressor

A certificate of periodic inspection for air compressor, issued by a competent Inspection Body, is required after five (5) years from the date of manufacture (Government Gazette 673/B/1993).

  • Periodic inspection of lifting equipment

A certificate of periodic inspection for the suitability for use of lifting equipment, issued by a competent Inspection Body, is required after more than one (1) year from the date of its installation (Government Gazette 1186/B/2003).

  • Checking the proper operation of the stage II vapor recovery system

The performance of the stage II vapor recovery system on fuel station distributors is checked by trained inspectors using specialized equipment. The inspection steps are in accordance with the EN 16321-2:2013 standard and the requirements of Government Gazette 1439/B/2012 and Government Gazette 1565/B/2016, as are currently in force.

  • Periodic inspection of the LPG Tank

AUTOGAS installations must have a valid periodic inspection certificate for the LPG tank issued by a competent Inspection Body after more than five years (5) from the date of manufacture. The carrying out of the periodic inspection requires that the tank be revealed, and checks are generally implemented in accordance with the Government Gazette 1221/2009 or the Government Gazette 477/1993.

  • Tightness check on the liquid fuel tank

A certificate of periodic inspection for tightness must be issued for each existing tank in accordance with the requirements of P.D. 118/06 (Government Gazette 119/A/06).

Each new tank must have a certificate that it was manufactured in accordance with the EN 12285-1 standard.

  • Tightness check on the liquid fuel pipelines

A pressure test is required on the pipelines used to transport liquid fuels, and a certificate of tightness check is issued in accordance with the requirements of P.D. 118/06 (Government Gazette 119/A/06).

  • Conformity check of the electrical installation

The electrical installation is checked by accredited inspectors using specialized equipment. The inspection steps are carried out in accordance with the ELOT HD 384 standard and the requirements of Government Gazette 844/B/2011 and Government Gazette 4654/B/2021, as are currently in force.
