Periodic lift inspection is the inspection of any existing lift that is already in use for lifting and transportation of persons and loads. The periodic (re)inspection of lifts is mandatory pursuant to the provisions of Greek legislation (Government Gazette 2604/B/2008). Existing lifts must be (re)inspected periodically, under the responsibility of the owners or managers of the buildings where they are installed, at specific intervals of 1 to 6 years depending on the use (residential, commercial, hotel, public use facility) of the building where they are installed.
