Initial and periodic inspection of escalators / moving walkways

The Inspection and/or Certification of escalators and moving walkways is conducted in accordance with relevant Greek Legislation in force (Government Gazette 765/03/04/2013). Existing escalators and moving walkways that are in operation before the entry into force of Government Gazette 765/B/03.04.2013, are mandatorily subject to an initial Type A1 inspection.

The initial Type A1 inspection is conducted, under the responsibility of the owner/manager of the facility, by ERGOCERT HELLAS SA. When carrying out the inspection, the presence of the installer is mandatory.

All escalators and moving walkways are subject to an annual periodic Type B inspection. The periodic Type B inspection is conducted, under the responsibility of the owner/manager of the facility, by ERGOCERT HELLAS SA. When carrying out the inspection, the presence of the installer is mandatory.
